Annual Water Safety and Swim Program

Every year the PEACE office partners with Youth for Youth LIVE! Guam, alongside various local organizations, in hosting a summer youth-led prevention program open to children and teenagers.

As part of their training, the volunteer summer program facilitators are trained not only in substance abuse prevention, but also in First Aid/CPR, swimming and water safety instructions. “The Guam Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Public Health and Social Services, the Guam National Guard, the Department of Public Works – Office of Highway Safety, American Red Cross, and American Heart Association are just some of the major supporters in this annual event.

Kids and teens who register will participate in a 6-week summer program where they can enjoy a range of fun-filled activities including swimming and water safety lessons, tennis, and prevention workshops that help build self-esteem, foster team building, develop personal skills for conflict resolution, peer mediation, and overall improved health.
