Holiday Crisis Hotline

Over the years, Guam’s Holiday Crisis Hotline services have been made available annually to assist individuals who may be feeling troubled or lonely during the Christmas and New Year season and who may need assistance and someone to talk with.

Under the leadership of the Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center’s Prevention and Training Branch, hotline volunteers have been successfully recruited and resources were provided by the private sector and other government entities.

The Holiday Crisis Hotline is a public service and collaborative effort with various government and private agencies, and community volunteers. Its goal is to provide safety and assistance through verbal interventions to individuals who find it extremely difficult to get through the holidays because of feelings of loneliness and despair.  Hotline volunteers will be trained to provide immediate crisis intervention and to make referrals to other available services that may be needed such as safe transportation to avoid driving while under the influence and emotional
support.
