PFS 2018:
The Partnerships for Success (PFS) grant is a community grant awarded to Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center (GBHWC) by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). PFS targets Guam youth alcohol, tobacco, and nicotine use by providing evidence-based prevention programs and outreach within the local public school system. With the help of community partners, education on the harms of substance use seeks to change youth attitudes and behaviors at an early age.
SPF-PFS 2023
SPF-PFS 2023 aims to support the strategic development and systematic delivery of substance misuse prevention and mental health promotion services at the state- and community-levels, which will ultimately reduce the onset and progression of substance misuse and its related problems among the island population.
As Guam's state authority for behavioral health services to include substance use prevention and mental health promotion, GBHWC will be offering subgrant opportunities to local non-profit organizations to implement prevention strategies in the community to fulfill the PFS grant goals and objectives.
